The volume gathers several research pieces focused on the work of modern Japanese writers such as Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Dazai Osamu, Kawabata Yasunari, Mishima Yukio, Miyamoto Yuriko, Abe Kobo, as well as literary movements, such as the proletarian literary movement or the coerced political conversion (tenko) movement.
